Matmissionen is Stockholm City Mission's social grocery stores that do good for both people and the environment. The selection consists exclusively of goods that risk becoming waste and are donated from the grocery industry. With us, you contribute to reduced food waste and enable our members to shop for food at low prices. Matmissionen also helps people enter the labor market by offering a unique work training place as the only grocery chain run by the non-profit sector without profit interest.

Within Matmissionen, we have nine grocery stores and a central warehouse, and we are now looking for part-time workers focusing on the warehouse. The main tasks of the warehouse worker consist of unloading and loading trucks, forklift driving, sorting goods, order picking, and waste management.

The main task of the central warehouse is to supply Matmissionen stores and receiving social activities with deliveries, but we also focus on work training and creating a welcoming and safe working environment for all individuals within the organization. We demand effective routines but never forget that Matmissionen is a social enterprise where the individual is in focus, and tasks and pace should be adaptable to the individual.

All food handled within Matmissionen is donated surplus that would otherwise have been discarded. This means that we are somewhat dependent on random factors and rarely know in advance what goods are on the way - and the workflow of the organization varies from day to day, hour to hour. In all moments, you will also instruct and coach individuals who are in work training.

The warehouse is located in Brunna in Kungsängen. We are looking for you who:

• Identify with Stockholm City Mission's values
• Enjoy working together with other people
• Are flexible and can jump in at short notice
• Are used to taking responsibility and initiating actions within given frameworks
• Are meticulous, patient, and stress-resistant
• Speak fluent Swedish, and preferably additional languages

We prefer that you have a B driver's license and are primarily looking for people who can work daytime on weekdays.

We place great importance on personal qualities and your ability to handle physical work. It is an advantage if you have previously worked in a warehouse/grocery store with food.
